As lifestyles change, more and more Japanese are giving up their kimonos due to difficulties in managing them, and approximately 10 tons of kimonos are discarded annually. However, Japanese textiles are truly wonderful. The kimono is upcycled and reborn as a sewing tool. We bring you the joy of experiencing Japanese culture every time you use them.

That’s why the tools you use—even occasionally—should be good ones.

initiatives

We started with a simple wish: to share Japan’s finest sewing tools with the world. By expanding the market, we aim to revive declining crafts and pass them on to the next generation. We are committed to carrying people’s passion and craftsmanship into the future.

sewing men

Is it weird for a man to enjoy sewing?”—This question sparked our mission.

Sewing is fun for everyone, and we believe it should be normal.

“Men who can sew are cool.”

To spread this message, we share inspiring videos and comics that showcase the true coolness of sewing men.

We added kanji characters to the logo so that it would grow into a brand that people would want to buy when they visit Japan.

At first, our main product was a sewing box that contained the pride of Japan, Shozaburo's scissors.

One day, we were approached by the president of a company that exports its products overseas.

From there, from my point of view as a fashion designer and a Japanese person, the Onkoto ring was born.
From there, from my point of view as a fashion designer and as a Japanese, the OTOKOTO RING was born and made into a series of products.

Making things is the most fun when an idea comes to mind, and the work is often painful. That's why I wanted to eliminate the trivial frustration that comes with dropping the needle,
With such a tool that heals you every time you look at the ring
I want to support everyone's desire to make things.

We want to support people's desire to create with such a tool, which is not just a convenient tool,
We are particular about "cute" and "beautiful".
 Because
When you feel "cute" and "beautiful
people are happy at that moment.
 Happiness without reason
I want to share that happiness
 That is my core desire
That is the core of what I am doing when I make things.

Manufacturing strengthens the heart and expands the world
 Through manufacturing
I wish to expand the circle of happiness

 One by one

We put our heart and soul into each and every one of our creations.
